Kim Lowe

Based in Christchurch, Kim Lowe completed her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury in 2008. Lowe’s latest body of prints Jade and Pounamu explore her Chinese and Pakeha genealogy within the context of Aotearoa. Lowe’s monochromatic approach to colour reflects the ancient Chinese yin-yang philosophy. Weaving in and out of inherited traditions, Lowe’s embossings and woodblock prints communicate a contemporary cultural narrative.
